Clippers: Germano throws perfect game against Chiefs

27 up, 27 down!

[Justin] Germano had a 5.65 ERA in 10 relief appearances for Columbus after struggling in the Indians bullpen this season. He gave up a Clippers’ season-high 12 hits in six innings during his start on Thursday.

Those woes didn’t affect him tonight. Germano, a 28-year-old righthander, threw a perfect game in Columbus’ 3-0 win at Syracuse. He struck out seven, including getting Corey Brown looking with his final pitch, in winning his first game of the season.

It is the first perfect game in Clippers history and only the fifth perfect game in the International League. The last Clippers no-hitter was in 2002.

Why are there no game chatters for Tuesday? Was anyone watching the end of that Pirates/Braves game?

WTF was that? And what the heck happened to Proctor? Did the ump think he simply whiffed on the tag?

I'm all for zany games like this, and it really was, but man I felt cheated out of 20 innings.

Chip Caray in the eighteenth, Alex Gonzalez at bat and a runner on second:

"Lined center field! ...but picked up by Cedeno." Ronny Cedeno is the Pirates' shortstop. Glad that he got to work in his trademark call.

Cristhian Martinez pitched six scoreless innings and looked great. It's not easy to top four perfect innings, which he had earlier this season, but he did.

Dan Uggla got above .200! Then he fell back below it.

The last call honestly looked like the ump was done with this nonsense and ready to head home. He had a point - they had three innings to score off Scott Proctor. You shouldn't need more than that.

Until tonight, I was generally in the no/less-instant-replay camp. Now I think that GPS balls and robot umpires are the only possible solution.

Just rewatched it. Terrible, terrible call. Suck it up, WE DON'T HAVE A CLOCK.
