Cubs considering sale of minority stakes

The Ricketts family, which bought the team and stadium in 2009, is weighing whether to sell minority shares to help fund $300 million in fix-ups to the park plus a $200 million neighborhood redevelopment.

Could this help explain the ever shrinking payroll?

It's been obvious since virtually Day One that the "rebuilding" plan was money-related. The only ones who didn't see it are the prospect geeks, the Theo fanboys, the deluded, and the delusional.

My thoughts exactly, when I read the headline. Does this minority stake include breakfast with Clarkie?

Is there anyone besides Blade and Principal Wood who would want to buy them?
