Prefer watching it alone, eh?

My parents watch and I am with them this week so I watched his two dances. He was pretty good and everyone on the show seems to genuinely like the guy.

I wonder if Lester will be his partner for the finale.

I mentioned it in a thread at the time, but the Cubs home opener this year was rain delayed and so they played his performance on the jumbotron and put up the number to call and vote for him. The crowd lustily booed the judges when they critiqued him and whichever judge gave him the lowest score. It was quite amusing. I think they've posted the number to call at the stadium (and on twitter) during each week since. I think he's getting a nice bump from his local celebrity.

Cubs are still using Ross for promotional stuff, as well; he also officially is some sort of special advisor but I feel like he hasn't been performing many of those duties recently.

This means my mom finally knows the name of a professional player. A first.

As a Cubs fan, I'm baffled by Ross's popularity to some degree but I can't begrudge him for it. You never know what someone's like when the cameras aren't on, but if Ross isn't genuinely appreciative of his fame and grateful for all the good that's happened for him, he does a hell of a job selling it.

Also, his intern bit in the Bryzzo ads is pretty good.
