Dayton Daily News: Dragons release Cabrera in wake of brawl

To some, Cabrera is taking the most blame for last Thursday’s bench-clearing brawl with Peoria (Ill.), during which Peoria pitcher Julio Castillo — apparently aiming for Cabrera — threw a ball into the stands, hitting a fan and creating a national story.

Cabrera did a little showboating following a walk-off Wednesday homer, trash-talked the Peoria bench after being hit with a pitch Thursday and slid spikes-high, breaking up a double play, just before the benches emptied.

...

“We feel we have better prospects,” Reynolds said. “We’re releasing him because he’s not a prospect.”

Let this be a lesson to the kids at home:  If you’ve got attitude issues and you aren’t really all that good to begin with, you may lose your job.
