Yes they do. Since I can't even break a pane of glass when I throw a baseball, it irritates me to no end when I watch them warming up the outfielders. I always think, "How can she have a better arm than I do? She's a girl for crying out loud!"

I would guess that I'm right on the margin. Though I was quite proud of myself last month...I threw my first ever slider in a game and it was a perfect back-door called third strike on the outside corner. I don't think I'll ever bother trying to throw one again because in practice I get about 1 in 5 sliders to actually slide, and 1 in 5 of those actually go where I intended. Going out on top!

EDIT: Speaking of arms, our club had this 17 year old kid try out baseball for the first time (he has background in cricket). We were practicing relays and he picked up a ball at the LF wall (just over 300 feet) and threw it over the heads of SS, 1B around the mound, and the catcher.

I used to play catch with a girl who played softball at Penn and she had a great arm. Made the ball hum and was deadly accurate. I could throw harder than she could, barely, but she had way more control. It was incredibly hot and it removed any general notions I had about girls throwing.
