Seems like almost everything Griffin is throwing is up. If he keeps doing that, he won't last long.

Gonzalez had the Yankees timing completely screwed up. He was pitching, they didn't know what was coming.

Former Red Sox farmhand, was out of affiliated ball for a few years, signed by Baltimore to be a AAA reliever.

It's like this year is trying all at once to balance out the sum of all Orioles misfortune over the past 15 years.
   609. cardsfanboy Posted: October 10, 2012 at 10:06 PM (#4262646)
cfb, I've seen a lot of guys that say knuckleball. My guess is those are based on interviews and no one seriously answers them. If you say, "I love the knuckleball" anyone looking at that for info will dismiss whatever is said.

I thought that gameday was using pitchFX data for that type of conclusion, I figure he must have faced a knuckleball one time and hit it or something like that.

Every. Day.
   611. bunyon Posted: October 10, 2012 at 10:07 PM (#4262648)
God, Jeter looks terrible. I missed it: what did he do to himself?
   612. Guts Posted: October 10, 2012 at 10:07 PM (#4262649)
Pretty ugly AB by the Cap't.
   613. Famous Original Joe C Posted: October 10, 2012 at 10:07 PM (#4262650)

Edit: because he's hurt? What did he do, I missed it.

More unlikely: Miguel Gonzalez or Sean Doolittle?
   615. JE (Jason) Posted: October 10, 2012 at 10:09 PM (#4262652)
?

It's bad enough Jeter is limping inside the batter's box. How is he helping his team by playing the field?
   616. Gamingboy Posted: October 10, 2012 at 10:09 PM (#4262653)
According to Twitter: Jeter has left the game.
   617. Weekly Journalist_ Posted: October 10, 2012 at 10:09 PM (#4262654)
He can barely move or swing.

Man...Yankees are in deep ####.

This is up on a tee. Anyone?
   619. Bourbon Samurai Posted: October 10, 2012 at 10:10 PM (#4262656)
Miguel Gonzalez or Sean Doolittle?

They are both pretty great. I wish the A's had picked up some random veteran at some point so they could have a Jake Taylor for their Major League remake...Bartolo Colon could work if you worked in some crazy subplot about how he intentionally got popped for steroid so he could spend more time with Rene Russo.
   620. Guts Posted: October 10, 2012 at 10:11 PM (#4262657)

Fan loyalty, duh. Plus memorabilia dissemination.

Oh...taking him out? Nothing left to root for now.

I have the TV muted to listen to the streaming radio broadcast, but what exactly is so special about that guy in the Verizon commercial ordering pizza on his Droid phone? Have his guests been keeping themselves in a cave for the last 5 years and this is the first time they've seen a smart phone?

Also, I really never want to see Bronson Arroyo sing that stupid sweatshirt song again. Evah.
   627. bunyon Posted: October 10, 2012 at 10:16 PM (#4262665)
could be, cfb. that sounds reasonable.
   628. Lassus Posted: October 10, 2012 at 10:16 PM (#4262666)
Wait, what did I miss about Jeter being replaced by Nix?

EDIT: Oh dear, something happened?
   629. Matt Clement of Alexandria Posted: October 10, 2012 at 10:17 PM (#4262667)
It took me way too long to come around on Jim Thome, second-circle Hall of Famer. Somehow his years of moderate utility at the end of his career helped me get over the hump.

Also, the Orioles are three outs from being up 2-1 in this series.... BUT THE 2-3-4 HITTERS ARE DUE UP! (GRABS OXYGEN)

Joe Angel on the Orioles radio broadcast remarked during Jeter's last AB that he looked gimpy as a result of a "defensive injury" that he had suffered. He kept repeating about Jeter limping around at the plate, but did not elaborate on said injury nor its cause.

If Jim Johnson can get out of this inning, the Orioles have the Yankees right where they want them, in extra innings!
