I would answer this, but, IBANEZ! CURSES!!
ok now the A's have runners on let's get em. Don't let me go 0-3 today guys!
I HATE YOU IBANEZ! I HATE YOU! CURSE YOU! CURSE YOUR FAMILY, CURSE YOUR DOGS AND CATS! CURSE YOUR HIGH SCHOOL ALMA MATER! CURSE YOUR COLLEGE ALMA MATER!
ARE YOU NOT INSPIRED?
Yep. It's Division Series Game 3, but Raul Ibanez just etched his name in stone.
Ahhhh. That makes me feel better.
I think we have a new convert to Balfour Rage.
He's had an amazing career. Just weird coincidences.
And yet, he hits the so manies of the home runs.
Freese, Gibson, Garvey and Ibanez.
Yep. It's Division Series Game 3, but Raul Ibanez just etched his name in stone.
Hell, he just about did the same thing in that must-win game against the Doormats last week. Only difference is that it was a walkoff single.
Makes no difference. I'm getting my money in now, before the odds get driven down.
Either Tillman or Saunders.
Aw, c'mon, nobody can really hate Jolly Old St. Nick or Slo Mo Cano.
Thanks for the quick update. Amazing ####. Not happy about the outcome, but baseball is still ####### awesome.
Lest Jack Morris show up and decide to intimidate us to death, it should be noted that this is the batting-only list.
*Breaths*

I think they need to win the Series (the last one) for that to be true. It's certainly in the running and could become legend, but not if they lose the next two games.
Harsh but fair.
You're thinking of Jim Rice. Morris tailors the ferocity of his glare to the situation.
Oh, this is ####### fantastic!
Well, this is true, of course. How legendary it becomes will be dependent on future events, but I'm not sure they need to win the World Series. Aaron Boone is a postseason legend forever, and they lost to the Marlins. Similarly, Bobby Thomson and the '51 Giants. (Note: Regardless of what happens, this performance could never be as legendary as either of those, because as I noted this is Division Series Game 3, but still...)
Speaking of Bobby Thomson, where would he rank in the WPA if that game was considered a playoff game. My guess would be #2 or #3? They were down two runs, but there was only one out, so...
My first comment seems quite prescient
This is now the worst game I've been to at Yankee stadium (although the Yankee fans were totally fine).
Adam Jones won this game for the Yankees.
In the old place Adam Jones would have gotten his bubble gum stuck in Miller Huggins' monument stone while Ibanez hobbled around the bases.
Why wouldn't you?
Did Freese get docked for his error in game six last year? Does WPA even factor fielding?
Surprisingly low (though still a very good score). As you note, there was only one out, and the tying runs were in scoring position.
I did not. Explain.
