Really, you counter good pitching by getting hits, that is a good strategy?
The announcer did bring up a good point though, it's become almost routine nowadays, probably to the point that it's practiced.
Four-run lead with one out in the 4th... 17 outs to go without giving up four runs to even up the series.
EDIT: And Lynn looking like he can get all 17 of those outs.
Given the horrible bats on the Cards bench (although all are far, far better than Lynn, who's at the bottom end of the hitting-pitcher spectrum) I say leave the so-far-very-effective and bat-missing Lynn in there with a four-run lead. Pretend he was the starting pitcher.
EDIT: I raised the question about Lynn only in light of his (brief) relief appearances Friday and Sunday.
This is getting weird....
Please tell me you need a Craig grand slam.. in Game 3... for the fourth bingo.
All of my bingo cards have hit, no more weirdness for this game. :(
EDIT: And he's successful!
For a fourth middle infielder that's called "padding the resume."
Just kidding, awesome play going 1st to 3rd on the sac bunt.
Yes, I am very useful.
He's always idolized Jeter.
I blame the crypto-Braves hats. I don't like those.
Now that's a username just WAITING for someone to jump on.
It's not a shellacking if the teenage mutant turtles aren't involved.
a) It's not a shellacking until it is over.
b) The Cardinals have dominated the Nationals at Busch Stadium over time, so coming away with a split is really good, because the Nationals have a similar advantage over the Cardinals at home.
"Cardinals better be careful, the Nationals can hit home runs in bunches. In back-to-back games earlier this year they hit six home runs in each game against the Cubs. .... Granted, it was against the Cubs' pitching..."
We're shellacking 'em back now! Let's get four more shellacks!
He still gets bad jumps though.

I see the B-game gets the checklist, the good game doesn't... :)
They're a streaky--both good and bad---offensive team.
Sorry, but I am unable to bend time and space...
Also, I'm dead serious about #181. People will have no idea how to react.
The man is insane
I guess the rumors of you looking like Matt Smith were greatly exaggerated.
Let me tell you, it effing sucked last night during the rain delay. They didn't even bother to show the Nationals game on the Jumbotron until it was in like the 8th or 9th inning with the only entertainment being the ALDS logo screensaver they put up.
