Say what you want about Dusty, but almost all of his teams never give up.
Congrats giants. They played better the last 3 days.
Maybe year 18 will be the year.
What a miserable human being. I can't wait for his career to be over.
Seconded, Reds have fought like hell at all times since he got there. We rag on Dusty a lot, but he does have some good points.
That matches the TBS graphic.
There's more of that world famous St. Louis class that makes Cardinals fans The Greatest Fans In The World.
I think I'd like to do it again.
2012 A's! It's getting done!
You bet it is.
Can't say that about the 2003 Cubs - after the Bartman error, and then after they fell behind in Game 7, it really looked like they were just going through the motions.
I just came out of a meeting here in the north Bay - we had to stop when Bruce came up because no one was paying attention. You could see Gameday, or a Gameday equivalent, up on the computer screens of about 90% of the participants.
Please no earthquake this time!
I find it weird that they're making a distinction between the 5-game LDS we have now and the old 5-game NLCS when discussing this stat. I know they're not the first team to come back from 0-2 down in a 5-game NL series, because ####### Steve Garvey.
I'm scheduled to move into my new house on October 26th, so I assume it will happen right around then.
Hey, it's the forum's elected arbiter of good taste again. How you doin', fella?
Didn't they come back from like a 5 run deficit early in the game?
Looking it up, not quite, from 3-0 down in the first they went up 5-3 but then lost. I think that was more Beckett making the Cubs look bad than anything though. He was dominant that October.
Joyce is calling this outside strike like crazy.
Your SS has like 20 hits in this series.
If you go back and rewatch the game, toward the end they were half-heartedly swinging at everything in those last few innings. I remember being with a group, and we were all yelling at them to take a couple of ####### pitches, maybe draw a walk and get someone on base. And they just wouldn't do it - swing, swing, swing.
That is why I said almost always... the Cub years are the exception to Dusty's career.
And then he doesn't call the low strike, so we're even.
"You know those horribly obnoxious Apple hipsters? With their bangs and their skinny jeans, who seem to think a phone makes them cool? They're the worst! ... Buy a Samsung phone and you'll be an awful Samsung hipster who looks down on the Apple hipsters. Meet you at the studio later, brah."
Someone at TBS screwed up and missed to bleep button. Obviously NSFW with the language.
