1. Voros McCracken of Pinkus Posted: October 10, 2012 at 04:35 PM (#4262178)At last, I have something in common with Alex Rodriguez.
The fear of getting fired keeps A-Rod awake at night.
oof!
Too bad that probably isn't true about Trump.
Then get this man some drugs!
Says the man with a wife 20 years his junior.
It's got Paul Anka's guarantee!
Ken Davidoff has a more sensible way of putting the same point.
Why again is it that this man is not running for president????
Is this counting Ichiro as a regular?
Arod isn't that far off from Jeter for the season, yet it's Jeter who is having the renaissance, and Arod who is sucking?
How much of the other regulars who are posting better ops, helped by platooning? Yes Cano is obviously the best hitter on the team and should be batting either second or third, then you have Granderson with a great year last year and basically and should be in the heart of the order, and of course Swisher with his consistent 120+ ops+.... that is who should be the heart of the order, beyond that, the other guys ahead of him, aren't ahead by much and might have a platoon advantage.
Without examining it, but going on reputation, memory and their numbers this year
You lead off with Jeter, Teix bats second, Cano third(note I know the best hitter should bat second, but that isn't historically what teams do) Granderson fourth, Swisher fifth, Arod sixth, and whatever scrubs cover the rest of the positions and platoon advantages fill out the rest of the lineup.
But yes, there is no reason for Arod to be batting third on this team.
(Guarantee void in Tennessee.)
One reason A-Rod is likely to continue hitting 3rd or 4th is to break up the lefties.
I love Memphis, but frankly - if the existence of Trump could be limited to Tennessee, nothing against the fine people of that state, but I can live with that.
I think I would root for Canseco without hesitation if he were to box Trump.
You guys are slipping.

I have a million Trump stories that I can't tell, unfortunately.
One particularly good one has Melania and another guy in it - no, not like that.
Just how an eventual Trump business partner nailed a deadpan Melania-related punchline that won over The Donald instantly.
He's still a good player, though, although not in this series. Yech.
Just don't look! Just don't look!
Or maybe he would think he was a ghost and try to make amends to all the people he was a dick to, like Cartman in that South Park episode. Either way, worth a shot.
Jeter in 155 games is 197 for 718, .310 AVG, .375 OBP, .469 SLG, 20 HR, 61 RBI, 109 R
A-Rod in 71 games is 70 for 312, .268 AVG, .376 OBP, .479 SLG, 13 HR, 41 RBI, 43 R
Jeter's RBI rate is poor, interestingly enough, even for a leadoff hitter
I think we can eliminate Rogaine from the lineup of suspects.
