Duquette given contract extension by Tony Massarotti

``When I first came here in ‘94, the job was to revitalize the scouting staff and rebuild the farm system and make the ballclub a contender. We’ve been able to do that, but I’m not really satisfied with that. I intend on completing the job I started.’’ I like Duquette, I really do, but he hasn’t done very much better than Lou Gorman. The farm system hasn’t really produced too much and the ballclub was a contender for most of Gorman’s reign. So, although I still appreciate the job Duquette has done, I won’t give him more credit than he deserves.
