ESPN:  Canseco to meet with feds on Tuesday

Another lawyer for Canseco, Robert Saunooke, has said Novitzky has described two photos to him—one of Clemens and an 11-year-old boy in Canseco’s pool and another of Canseco with the same boy. From the description, the undated photos in no way linked Clemens to the specific party in question, Saunooke said.

Well, wouldn’t that embarrass some people.  The article also notes that Canseco may be asked about “Max”, the mysterious steroid dealer who “told him that A-Rod had ‘signed on.’”  Max, huh?  I think he was just clowning around.

This time they'll meet somewhere even more disgusting:

Arby's.

The story doesn't mention that Saunooke parted on bad terms with Canseco and isn't representing him anymore. Apparently he called Canseco "a piece of sh*t" to a New York Times reporter.

That story was linked here. I'm pretty sure it was an article posted on Deadspin, not the NY Times. Anybody want to refresh my memory?

I'm glad to hear about this. I had wondered what Canseco had been up to over the past week or so.

Every time that Canseco opens his mouth, his lawyer smiles.

He opened his mouth about Max, and Max just came out of the woodwork.

Of course, Max is the "one guy" who "hates" steroids, and A Rod hated them, too. Why A-Rod would go to a strip-mall trainer, then, is a question apparently above Max's pay grade.

SI:
[Joseph] Dion said that to this point no one -- not Canseco, federal agents, Major League Baseball, the book's publisher, Simon Spotlight, or Rodriguez -- have contacted him since the release of Vindicated.

If investigators ask to interview him, Dion said he would agree.

"I'm clean," he said. "I have no reason for concern."

By his account, Dion is a simple fitness devotee and instructor who runs five miles a day, eats brown rice with his sushi and doesn't push protein powders on his clients, much less steroids. If Dion is telling the truth, why would Canseco fabricate a steroid identity for him?

"I'm hurt in every way because it's not right and it's not true," Dion said.

Max trained A-Rod for four years and admittedly talked to him about steroids, but apparently so they could share with each other how much they hated them.

Max is the "one person" who really hates steroids, but A-Rod hates them as well, so there must be at least two. Max did not clear up this contradiction.

From the SI Article:

Jose Canseco may put his credibility at risk during a scheduled interview with federal agents next week if the author of Vindicated discloses the identity of "Max."

Canseco putting his credibility at risk is a little like Madonna putting her chastity at risk.

I'm not sure what SI article you're quoting, Srul, but "Max" just ID'd himself.

How about the one that was linked just above by NTN, where Max just ID's himself?

Hard to see how that fits with the rest of the article.

Hey, I didn't write the article. I just quoted a part of it to bust on Canseco.

And it does fit the article. They are pointing out that if Canseco admits that if Dion is Max, Dion is going to claim that everything that Canseco says about him and A-Rod is BS, thereby damaging Canseco's credibility.
