Too be fair, I wouldn't want to eat in a Victorian hospital either.
(Also, I wonder if writers at Urine Feces Everywhere put it on their resumes.)
If I've felt any foreign splashback during the process, obviously that's a different calculus.
I've come to the conclusion that my hands are completely sensor-resistant. I wave my damn hands under those things like a college kid trying to distract a free throw shooter and I can't draw a drop of water.
By my observation, at certain public places - mid-scale and up restaurants, museums, office buildings etc. - way more than 20% wash their hands.
At sporting events? 20% sounds high to me.
