ESPN: Szymborski: Projecting the AL Standings (INSIDER)

Seasons are simulated a million times using a Monte Carlo method, the percentile performance of player projections and estimates of roster construction. There are other bits of mathematical nerdery involved (linear algebra for the win!), but I’m sure you want to get down to the results, so here we go.

And the NL.

I'm deeply disappointed that last year's ZiPS update of RBI baseball was apparently a one-shot deal.

It's not. We're still wrapping up the final release of the DMB disk - I'm doing RBI after that.

When is that, next week or next month?

I turn 50 on June 19, 2028.

I would recommend looking at one of those places that sends magazines to troops overseas.]

Haven't they suffered enough?

Just in time for the flying cars and that machine that brought together Logan and Jessica 6!

Also, it is when Johan Santana may finally pitch again.

That's fantastic news, I'm looking forward to it.

The only links here that aren't regular "advertising" for their writers, either submitted by themselves or others, are Repoz's political trolls.

If only Viola's endless political trolling was locked away behind a paywall.

Isn't most of the OT stuff in OT threads nowadays? A better criticism of Repoz would be that his leadins seem to have lost their fastball, they don't crack me up like they used to. But he's been linking stuff for a dozen years.

Every fireballing kid becomes a slop throwing old man, if they're lucky.

Every thread eventually turns to either politics or Frank Tanana.

You are forgetting music, history, fashion, movies, and the kind of OT threads, NBA basketball. Though I suppose most of that list falls into either politics or Frank Tanana, so you may be right :)

Cocktails are glaringly missing from that list... never forget the cocktails... it is what separates us primates from the amoebas on other sites.

I need to know Frank Tanana's position on gay marriage.

He says it has nothing to do with him...

It was good at first, but then it went too far.
