Baseball Primer Newsblog— The Best News Links from the Baseball Newsstand
Thursday, May 10, 2012
Hanley Ramirez may still become a superstar, Jose Reyes was deservedly a splashy free-agent signing and Josh Johnson is one of the best pitchers in the game. But despite concerns about chemical enhancement, the public’s love affair with the long ball continues, and when Stanton, a true product of the farm system, connects with the ball, he’s a better particle accelerator than the Large Hadron Collider, setting him up to be “the guy” in Miami.
So, what kind of park is Miami’s new digs and what effects will it have on Stanton’s bottom-line numbers?
Even if we use park-neutralized stats in all sorts of sabermetric applications, cheering a theoretical home run doesn’t juice hero worship in quite the same way as a real one does. And after all, the Marlins didn’t build that gloriously garish paean to psychotropic drugs just to languish quietly behind the wall in left-center.
I project Stanton’s career in ever park in baseball and speculate on what Marlins Park could look like based on the very limited information we have.

1. Harveys Wallbangersdid you write that while sober?
he did pitch over 200 innings once. in 2009
and he did lead the league in ERA. in 183 innings.
meanwhile he can't stay healthy the bulk of the time and actually playing is an element of value
oh and this year he is leading the nl in hits surrendered and looks like dog****
but why let the facts get in the way
