How has Jimy kept his job? He pinch runs for the hobbling Manny in the 7th with Darren Lewis. With a full count on Everett, you’d expect Lewis to be stealing, wouldn’t you? Isn’t that one of the reasons you pinch ran? He doesn’t steal. Everett hits a ground ball and Lewis is forced out. The bigger gaffe came in the ninth when Boston had men on 2nd and 3rd an done out. Guess who’s spot is up to hit:Lewis. Surely, SURELY, there will be a pinch hitter! I’d almost rather have Pedro himself with a bat in his hand. Jimy lets him swing, if that is what you want to call it. Surprise! A feeble 3 hopper to shortstop and nobody scores. This is not second guessing. I, and I am sure every Red SOx fan who watched the game, was cursing Williams as the action was occuring.
