ESPNLA: Kings, Stanley Cup crash Dodger Stadium

Well, they didn’t actually crash the stadium; as Arash Markazi of ESPNLosAngeles.com writes, the Stanley Cup-champion Kings were welcome when the Dodgers hosted the Angels on Wednesday night.

Dodgers manager Don Mattingly wore a Kings Stanley Cup Champions T-shirt while filling out his lineup card. Kings defenseman Matt Greene put on a Dodgers uniform. And all three teams happily flocked to the mound to take the above photo.

“I’ve thrown out the first pitch couple of times,” captain Dustin Brown told Markazi, “but it’s different now being a Stanley Cup champion in the city of Los Angeles.”

Wait, the Kings won the Cup?

The Mayans were right.

12 years of increasingly expensive season tickets all paid back Monday night being there for the clincher. A night me and my daughter will never forget. Since half the team lives in Manhattan Beach, my goal is to see the Cup in person. It shall be awesome.

Whether you give a #### about hockey or not, you have to admit the Cup is by far the coolest physical trophy in sports.

The picture of the Kings, Dodgers and Angels around the Cup is spectacular.
