Fan hit by metal debris from Wrigley scoreboard…

...but at least he was wearing a bucket on his head.

Hard to know where to grab the quote for this one. How about:
The fan could not be reached, and it wasn’t clear why he had a bucket on his head. But it may have stemmed from an extra-inning game in mid-May 2015, when a few Cubs players emptied the bubble gum containers in the dugout and wore them on their heads as “rally caps.”

Since it was deemed an accident and not a structural issue, the Cubs are not concerned about a recurrence.
Same thing they said every fall from 1909 to 2014.

Amateurs. Missing an opportunity for obtaining an up to date climate controlled, retractable domed facility?

way back in the day, the combination of heat, blinding sun, and a massive hangover led one member of my posse to hike to the shade under the CF scoreboard shortly after our arrival at Wrigley.

he slept there the entire game - then bounced back nicely in the post-game show, shall we say.

no bucket - but it would have taken a hefty piece of debris to rouse him, yet not kill him.
