The Dodgers have a 30 person analytics department?

interim co-GM John Ricco

This is so Mets

I don't get this:
At least for now the Mets are open to considering all sorts of possibilities, though the likelihood of luring a current GM such as David Stearns, Jed Hoyer, Jon Daniels, Mike Chernoff, Erik Neander or Farhan Zaidi would seem remote, though they could probably offer Neander a raise at least.
Hoyer and Zaidi are lieutenants. Getting the top job with the Mets would be a promotion even if they got the same title.

I don't think I've seen a story on this linked here so...
Wilmer Flores has arthritis in both knees
I'd say this is the most Mets of all the Mets injuries, but there's heavy competition for that spot...

So that's at least Flores, Harvey and Wright from "the last good Mets team" with injuries that are immediately known to be permanently debilitating. That does seem unusual.

Hoyer and Zaidi are lieutenants. Getting the top job with the Mets would be a promotion even if they got the same title.

In Zaidi's case, would it be a promotion? He already gets paid like a top dog and I think it is debatable whether he would have more autonomy under the Wilpons than he has under Friedman.
