Flip Flop Fly Ball: George Brett - Jeans, Black Bucks, No Socks

While George Brett reached home safely 1583 times in his MLB career, those runs are not the subject of Craig Robinson’s recent analysis.

1. George Brett is one very very weird dude.

2. I love how the guys he's telling this story to don't seem to have a great degree of interest in hearing it, they keep walking away, but Brett keeps right on telling this bizarre tale.

3. I now have an entirely new question in my mind regarding just what some of those extended mound conversations are actually about. And I don't feel real good about it.

Craig Robinson has written at least two very funny "picture books" (a baseball one and an atlas). He's an odd cat with a very interesting take on the world. And he's a Brit who loves baseball and lives, I believe, in Mexico. His work is worth checking out.

That was pretty great.

Brett saying he does this twice a year does raise some new questions in my mind about the pine tar incident, though.
