Florida Marlins’ Wes Helms: No place in Hall of Fame for drug users

And this means you…(THERE’S TOO MANY TO CHOOSE FROM!)

Wes Helms, a steady but unspectacular performer during 11 major-league seasons, doesn’t envision himself landing in baseball’s Hall of Fame. But neither does he want to see those who used performance-enhancing drugs get in, either.

‘The Hall of Fame is baseball, and if you let guys like that in the Hall of Fame, it makes our kids think that `if they did it, I should.’ ‘’ he said.

Helms said the Hall of Fame ban should apply only when there is ‘‘100 percent proof’’ that a player used steroids.

‘‘It’s sad,’’ Helms said Wednesday, one day after a newspaper report that Sammy Sosa tested positive for a performance-enhancing drug in 2003. ``It’s one of those things where you can’t judge until you know it’s true. But these guys who have come out and said they did it or have been caught and admitted it, yeah. Everybody makes mistakes. But when it comes to an award like the Hall of Fame, you’ve got to count them out.’‘

He's just angling to get in the Hall of Fame himself as one of the three clean players of the past 20 years.

Who the fcuk really cares about the kids anyway? Everybody says it and yet most people don't live their life acting in a way that will keep our kids innocent.

Jiminy crickets the hall is full of fvcks who we wouldn't want our kids to emulate. It is the freakin Hall of Fame not Lil Debs day school. If some museum in some podunk town up in Bumblefvck, NY influences your kid to do something unhealthy then you got bigger problems than who is in the hall.

I wonder what they'd do if they ever found out about Ed Delahanty.

It's rare you see a sentence that starts with "Jiminy Crickets" and later includes the f-word.

Listen, Wes Helms, I have some terrible news for you...

Well, I didn't want to be too vulgar.

What about the Rock N' Roll HOF?

That's interesting, as I was reading an article the other day, where the writer speculated that some members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame were rumored to have taken illegal drugs in the past. Whether or not this would affect their status was not mentioned.

You must never have read the screenplay for this.

Shouldn't the Rock and Roll HoF eject musicians found out to be shamefully sober and clean living?
