Otani would be crazy to come over before he's 25. Why on earth would he subject himself to the Int'l amateur FA caps, and give the MLB team 7 years of below market control?

At 25, he's an unrestricted FA, and will get hundreds of millions of dollars. If he comes over before then, he'll be taking a pay cut from Japan.

Speaking of infinite burgers, how is Panda doing so far in spring training? Any chance he gets playing time this year? Is he in the best shape of his life. I must have missed that thread.

Manfred should do something underhanded to guarantee that Otani will get a chance as a two-way player in the majors. Amazing publicity opportunity.

Let's not lose track of the real triumph here - MLB's successful effort to once again artificially suppress salaries. Eh, why would anyone want to see this Ohtani guy anyways?
