Can we please stop referring to the end of last year as a collapse? The Cubs went 15-12 in September, 4-3 over the last week of the regular season. The Brewers just went 19-6 for the month and won their last 7. This was not the 2011 Red Sox going 7-20 and blowing a huge lead; this was getting caught from behind by a team playing incredibly well.

Agreed. I've pointed it out before that although that 15-12 is a worse winning% than the rest of the season, one more September win would have been right on pace and given them the best record in the NL.

However, I think it is fair to say the offense collapsed and/or just disappeared. Then again, this is just another pointless Jesse Rogers piece.

And you guys kinda understate it. They won 4 of the last 5 regularly scheduled games. Even the offense had woken up, scoring 29 over those last 5 games. In fact, although it's certainly not how I remember it, they scored 62 runs over the last 13 regularly scheduled games (granted with two shut-outs and two 1-run games). All told, 8-5 over those 13 games. The Brewers went 10-3 over their last 13, closing a massive 2-game gap in only 2 weeks!

Without question, games 163 and 164 are best forgotten.
