Fort Worth Cats sign major-league draft pick Aaron Crow

Pitcher Aaron Crow, who was selected ninth overall in the Major League Baseball first-year player draft by Washington in June, signed a minor-league contract with the Fort Worth Cats on Wednesday.

Crow was the Big 12 pitcher of the year at Missouri last season. He was 13-0 in 2008 with a 2.35 ERA and 127 strikeouts in 107 innings.

Too obvious. A sure-fire sign that he'll be a National come Friday night.

So, knowing history.. the Royals draft Crow in 2009?

2,
It'd be a nice local kid done good story with him being from some hamlet near Topeka and starring at Missouri.

Yeah, I think the last local kid draft story for KC was a Rockhurst Hawklet who the Royals traded twice and who won a Cy Young.

The Royals really haven't been assertive enough in Missouri. Hell, they had 10 or 11 shots at the best hitter in the NL, who went to high school in the same metro area. I forget how many shots they had at Ryan Howard too. (And I think Crede was the same)

There's a lot of talent in Missouri and maybe some in Kansas too. And KC has conceded this ground for too long.

Is his agent Bean Stringfellow?

Another slap in the face to Washington fans. About the only good that can come out of this is that angry public sentiment will force Nationals ownership to fire Bowden.

Why is it always the Fort Worth Cats? Are they like the Yankees of the independent leagues?
