I was at the Dodgers game on Monday where they announced his passing before the game and had a moment of silence. I'd never heard of him because he was before my time although I guess he was on the '81 team that won it all. Still, I thought it was a nice gesture and I'm glad the Dodgers thought to honor him that way, the moment of silence was followed up by appreciative applause. Looking him up now, turns out he was a lifelong Los Angeles native too, a Lincoln High and Valley College product. Ballplayers from Southern California aren't exactly rare, but it's always nice when the fans get a chance to appreciate a hometown guy.

He had a pretty solid year for the '82 Twins who gave him 25 starts even though he was basically just a reliever in LA, they used him as a swingman that year, he also got 15 relief appearances.
