NEVER MIND! Bad decision.

Bourn totally should have run there. Whatever, its an infield single for Prado.

Nice...Teixeira sucks a ####### dick all season, and then does that. can't you do anything right you worthless piece of horsefaced ####. I ####### HATE you.

And with that I hand the designation of "the Yankees' fan version of Phil Coorey", that I was just awarded this last weekend, over to you!

=)

It's like Bourn can steal at will.

Maybe not.

Fangraphs has Boston at 57% for today's game.

David Price, huh?

It's not exactly shocking. Well, it shouldn't be except Price seems to be made of teflon and for the most part the hype endures while his failures roll right off his back.
   409. spycake Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:01 AM (#3942035)
I thought Bourn went to third on the bunt... unless he went back to second to get another stolen base...
   410. Lassus Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:01 AM (#3942037)
Someone keep an eye out for Sam at the Atlanta game charging the 3B ump.
   411. Brian White Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:02 AM (#3942038)
And the umpires are officially holding a "Let's screw the Braves" party.
   412. Harveys Wallbangers Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:02 AM (#3942043)
Ok, that hurt
   413. Mike A Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:02 AM (#3942044)
I'm convinced Selig told the umps to screw the Braves. Bourn was safe by a county mile.
   414. NTNgod Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:03 AM (#3942049)
UGGLA!
   415. Mike A Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:03 AM (#3942050)
And boom goes the dynamite. Uggla-style.
   416. Good cripple hitter Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:03 AM (#3942053)
I'm convinced Selig told the umps to screw the Braves. Bourn was safe by a county mile.

Replay shows that Bourn came off the bag while the tag was still being applied.
   417. Brian White Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:03 AM (#3942054)
Uggla hits what should have been a three run home run. 3-1 Atlanta.
   418. JJ1986 Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:04 AM (#3942059)
Lavarnway to Yale has been mentioned many times.
   419. AJMcCringleberry Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:05 AM (#3942066)
Replay shows that Bourn came off the bag while the tag was still being applied.

If Braves fans can't complain about the umpires what else do they have?
   420. Gamingboy Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:05 AM (#3942067)
Got it, JJ1986.
   421. spycake Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:05 AM (#3942069)
Red Sox have to lose -- Bruce Chen's plane ticket is non-refundable.
   422. JJ1986 Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:06 AM (#3942071)
I think Chen's going to start pitching in 10 minutes or so.
   423. Good cripple hitter Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:06 AM (#3942074)
Hardy, you magnificent bastard!

   429. NJ in DC (Now with Wife!) Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:08 AM (#3942094)
Something fitting about one of the O's hitters that was being criticized earlier hitting that homer.
   430. AJMcCringleberry Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:08 AM (#3942099)
Orioles!
   431. Mike A Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:09 AM (#3942101)
Bourn did come off the bag...though the ump didn't see it and called him out before that. So I guess he got the call right by blind luck?

Hmmmm. Not sure what to think about that.
   432. A Random 8-Year-Old Eskimo Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:09 AM (#3942102)
Woohoo. J.J. comes up big.
   433. Textbook Editor Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:09 AM (#3942103)
Well, it's just 1 run. If we can't score 3 against the O's...
   434. Baldrick Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:10 AM (#3942105)
Even if the Rays are 100% to lose the game at this point, I don't see how you get to 90% for Boston. If you give them 50% to win the one-game playoff in case of a loss, they would have to be, what...80% to win today's game?

It's true, I exaggerated slightly for dramatic effect.
   435. DKDC Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:10 AM (#3942106)
Sweet turn of events. Hold the line, Alfredo. I'm not sure this pathetic Orioles lineup can score any more runs against an all-time great like Lester.
   436. The John Wetland Memorial Death (CoB) Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:10 AM (#3942109)
Uh, Maddon, I know you get mad props, but Price needs to be gone from this game, pronto.
   437. NTNgod Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:10 AM (#3942111)
So I've got the Brewers game on the TV, and the quad-ESPN3 setup on the monitor. Overload! Overload!
   438. Misirlou was a Buddhist prodigy Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:10 AM (#3942114)
Price has absolutely nothing.
   439. boteman Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:10 AM (#3942115)
The Price is wrong. The Rays radio guys describing this as a "Kazmir-like" start. I assume that means bad Kazmir.
   440. Esmailyn Gonzalez Sr. Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:11 AM (#3942117)
Pujols 100 RBI reference waiting for hia 1st pitch
   441. AJMcCringleberry Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:11 AM (#3942119)
They need to get Price out of there.
   442. Tom Cervo, backup catcher Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:11 AM (#3942120)
Why is Price still out there?
   443. Harveys Wallbangers Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:12 AM (#3942123)
Greinke throwing about 3 mph slower than normal.

Well, there was a 92 mph fastball.
   444. Gamingboy Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:12 AM (#3942125)
Phil, I just need to know something: Are you a native Australian or an expat that lives down under? Because, well, I want to read your posts with the proper accent.
   445. Harveys Wallbangers Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:12 AM (#3942129)
Betancourt with nice hands. Rather shocking
   446. JGLB's Not Punk, And He's Telling Everyone Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:13 AM (#3942130)
That is not Moore warming up...
   447. Sheer Tim Foli Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:13 AM (#3942131)
Does Maddon have anyone in the pen right now?
   448. Esmailyn Gonzalez Sr. Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:13 AM (#3942132)
And Pujols almost goes deep...RBI double
   449. Harveys Wallbangers Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:14 AM (#3942135)
Cards not messing around 1-0 with runners on and nobody out
   450. JJ1986 Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:14 AM (#3942136)
IBB'ing Eduardo Nunez? Why?
   451. Brian White Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:14 AM (#3942137)
And some fancy pitching from Tim Hudson gets him out of a jam. 3-1 going into the bottom of the fourth.
   452. Harveys Wallbangers Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:15 AM (#3942138)
What is it about the Thomas family and their need to be in front of the camera on commercials for Wendy's?

Yikes
   453. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:15 AM (#3942139)
Braves better take care of business, because the Astros don't look interested in recording a Cardinal out so far.
   454. Srul Itza Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:15 AM (#3942140)
Pujols with his 99th RBI, Cards up by 1 in the first
   455. AJMcCringleberry Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:15 AM (#3942147)
Juan Cruz and Alex Torres warming up. IBB to Nunez for some reason.
   456. Harveys Wallbangers Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:15 AM (#3942148)
Myers has nothing. Geez
   457. The John Wetland Memorial Death (CoB) Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:16 AM (#3942151)
Fat Elvis!

2-0 Cardinals.
   458. The John Wetland Memorial Death (CoB) Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:17 AM (#3942158)
Myers taking a beating in the 1st.

3-0 Cardinals, still no out.
   459. Harveys Wallbangers Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:17 AM (#3942160)
3-0 Cards
   460. Mike A Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:18 AM (#3942162)
This quickly turned into a must win for the Braves.
   461. Gamingboy Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:19 AM (#3942169)
Who the hell is George Kontos?
   462. The John Wetland Memorial Death (CoB) Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:19 AM (#3942170)
Nice of Cuba Gooding Crawford to go all out on that play ... guess he didn't want to injury himself for the off-season ...
   463. Esmailyn Gonzalez Sr. Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:20 AM (#3942174)
George Kontos?
   464. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:20 AM (#3942177)
OH JESUS CHRIST
   465. Gamingboy Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:20 AM (#3942185)
A BALK!?!?!!?!!?!

Jeez, Charm City...
   466. DKDC Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:20 AM (#3942187)
WTF?
   467. RB in NYC (Now Semi-Retired from BBTF) Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:20 AM (#3942188)
Wow! Tying run scores on a balk! Seems like stuff is finally going right for Boston.
   468. Good cripple hitter Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:20 AM (#3942190)
#### me sideways, a balk?

Balk ties the game in Baltimore.
   471. JJ1986 Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:20 AM (#3942194)
Simon "balks" in a run. I don't see it.
   472. DKDC Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:21 AM (#3942195)
Would've scored anyways on the single, I guess.
   473. The John Wetland Memorial Death (CoB) Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:21 AM (#3942196)
Rat-faced ###### draws the balk!
   474. Tom Cervo, backup catcher Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:21 AM (#3942199)
Kontos had some arm injuries, but before that he looked like he could be a good reliever. He was homer prone in AAA this year.

Good AB by Jennings. He needs to steal.
   475. Harveys Wallbangers Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:21 AM (#3942201)
Cards blowing them out
   476. Lassus Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:21 AM (#3942202)
STRIKE HIM OUT, er nameless Pirate pitcher!
   477. Misirlou was a Buddhist prodigy Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:21 AM (#3942203)
Run scoring balk. There ya go Boston, now we're even for the triple play.
   478. JJ1986 Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:22 AM (#3942206)
Myers is really getting knocked around.
   479. Tom Cervo, backup catcher Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:22 AM (#3942207)
And he does. Crazy slow release from Montero again.
   480. Lassus Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:22 AM (#3942210)
Miwaukee announcers whining about Reyes.

WOOHOO!

0-1
   481. Harveys Wallbangers Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:22 AM (#3942211)
Braun bounced out to third
   482. DKDC Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:23 AM (#3942217)
That was not smart.
   483. Corn On Ty Cobb Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:23 AM (#3942221)
It's probably never a good idea to depend on Brett Myers for help.
   484. Sweatpants Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:23 AM (#3942222)
Rat-faced ###### draws the balk!
I'm confused. Jack Wilson did bat this inning, but there was no balk called.
   485. AJMcCringleberry Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:24 AM (#3942225)
Braun bounced out to third

YES!
   486. Harveys Wallbangers Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:24 AM (#3942226)
There was no whining. There was the common jibe referring to Jose Reyes as no Ted Williams

Reyes demeaned himself. Folks should expect others to take the obvious shot
   487. salvomania Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:24 AM (#3942228)
Do people realize that Nick Punto now has a 129 OPS+?
   488. salvomania Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:25 AM (#3942231)
Carpenter batting in the 1st, still only 1 out...
   489. Harveys Wallbangers Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:25 AM (#3942233)
salvo

I bet everyone in Minny does. And is grinding their teeth

   492. Harveys Wallbangers Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:28 AM (#3942247)
Greinke not fooling anyone. I didn't like this idea when it was announced and like it less by the minute
   493. spycake Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:28 AM (#3942249)
Laffey alert! Proctor can't be far behind
   494. Lassus Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:28 AM (#3942250)
Reyes demeaned himself. Folks should expect others to take the obvious shot

-shrug-

I already expressed my displeasure at Reyes doing what others already have done in the past, and lamely so. "Demean himself" is not what he did.
   495. salvomania Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:29 AM (#3942257)
I bet everyone in Minny does. And is grinding their teeth

Now that Albert is down to about a 6% walk rate, Punto and Berkman are the only two Cardinals who'll take a base on balls. His OBP is nearly .400 due to his walks, and you know what, there's some real value in that.
   496. spycake Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:30 AM (#3942259)
Give Punto 400-500 PA and let's see what happens to that OPS+.

Still would be better than any Twins middle infielder, though....
   497. Guapo Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:31 AM (#3942261)
Why did Girardi pull Kontos after less than one inning? How many pitchers is he going to use tonight?
   498. AJMcCringleberry Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:31 AM (#3942262)
Anyone else rocking the quad-view?

I have Tampa on the TV and Boston, Atlanta, St. Louis, and Milwaukee on the computer.

Lassus

I am a big Jose fan but today didn't work for me

Well, I appear biased given my hometown team so will refrain from further comment.
