Let’s smash all the game 162 game chatters into one thread, shall we? There is a full slate of games, but as far as playoff races are concerned, these are the games that matter (although if you want to talk about any of the other games for any reason, feel free).

I just thought of something: What is going to happen if the Red Sox have a slight lead (one or two runs), and it starts to pour, and it's a official game. Can you imagine the shitstorm that would happen if the Red Sox clinched by rainshortening?

FWIW, Kotchman is 9-for-9 against Laffey lifetime with 4 doubles. Has anyone else ever started out so hot against a pitcher?

Lester's been relatively efficient, only 70 pitches through 5. Doesn't look great for the O's, who will need to score more than 2 to win this.

LOL at Phil whining in the Red Sox chatter. There's a difference between being upset with a team (which Red Sox fans certainly should have been through this month) and being a constant barrage of spewing obscenities and declarations that they were "done" with the team on a near nightly basis.

OK, I didn't see the play, but I think I'd instruct my third base coach to always end the runner on contact in a one-out, runner on third situation. At worst, you lose two bases (with two outs). At best, you score a run and put another runner on base. I like the trade.
