Anyone else rocking the quad-view?

And one on the TV.

I am a big Jose fan but today didn't work for me

I'm definitely against it as well, but only up to a point as far as descriptive purposes go.

No TV for me, but I've got all four games. And I'm learning a lot about counterfeit medicines -- thanks, Pfizer!

Can Tampa trade for Bruce Chen and get him yet tonight? Price must be nervous, pitching in front of 3,000 fans...

Braun needs 3 hits in his next 3 ABs to win.
   523. Gamingboy Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:40 AM (#3942340)
I just thought of something: What is going to happen if the Red Sox have a slight lead (one or two runs), and it starts to pour, and it's a official game. Can you imagine the shitstorm that would happen if the Red Sox clinched by rainshortening?

Hudson's at 84 pitches through 6. With the Braves' bullpen - most notably Jonny Venters - looking gassed lately, I wonder how long they'll want him to go.

As many as it takes until he finds one the Rays can hit.

Hart HR makes it 2-0 MIL

- nailing down #2 seed and HFA for 1st round --> so far, so good

- Braves get wildcard --> still requires some work
   547. Harveys Wallbangers Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:50 AM (#3942403)
After several awful swings Hart takes one out to right. 2-0

Hart crushes lefties so this is not a total surprise

I am rooting for the Yankees. Rooting against them for any reason, including to spite Boston, is simply wrong.

Pujols has actually never had fewer than 103. So he needs 5 RBI tonight.

Against the current form of the Red Sox pitching staff, it's certainly going to be interesting until the end.
   560. Srul Itza Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:52 AM (#3942428)
Pujols streak of OVER 100 rbi?

I will gladly settle for the 100.

And there is still life in the Birds, at least as long as Lester stays on the mound.
   561. Brian White Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:53 AM (#3942431)
Apparently, its "any ball within six inches of the plate is a strike to Brian McCann" day.

This will not be a bunt...
   566. Lassus Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:54 AM (#3942437)
I'm kind of in favor of a hit here, to draw out the drama, Harveys.
   567. Gamingboy Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:54 AM (#3942438)
I wonder what Buck Showalter's big inspirational speech was before the game. It probably had something to do with how he thinks Theo is a #####, Cashman is a baby and how the Spanish totally had it coming for what they did to the Maine.
   568. spycake Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:54 AM (#3942440)
So Brewers fans, is Hart really your leadoff man? That's cool.

And is Hairston in the mix for playoff 3B? Because that's not so cool.
   569. Brian White Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:55 AM (#3942441)
Diaz still in for Atlanta? Something wrong with Heyward?

Hey, NL ball!!! Sixth RBI of the year for Carpenter, Birds up 6-0....
   572. Lassus Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:55 AM (#3942444)
Did anyone figure out if 4-7 does it?

Enjoy Mets fans.

spycake

Hairston has earned playing third given that McGehee is a train wreck and Jerry not being said disaster.

Are you aware of the awfulness that is Casey McGehee?
   576. Lassus Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:57 AM (#3942453)
Well...... that's probably going to win it for Reyes, barring, er, 5-7 or something.

Sigh.

Should have been more fun.
   577. Gamingboy Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:57 AM (#3942457)
Nice baserunning, Mobtown.
   578. Karl from NY Posted: September 29, 2011 at 12:57 AM (#3942458)
4-7 wins for Braun, yes. He would have .33746 to Reyes' .33706.

4-6 also wins of course.

2 outs!

Uggla and Reynolds.

AM has really faded in the second half for the Pirates. Kind of surprising.
   589. Bad Doctor Posted: September 29, 2011 at 01:00 AM (#3942487)
Buck's speech apparently wasn't motivational enough to get Reynolds to take out Lavarnway at home.
   590. DKDC Posted: September 29, 2011 at 01:00 AM (#3942488)
Lester's been relatively efficient, only 70 pitches through 5. Doesn't look great for the O's, who will need to score more than 2 to win this.
   591. Walks Clog Up the Bases Posted: September 29, 2011 at 01:00 AM (#3942489)
LOL at Phil whining in the Red Sox chatter. There's a difference between being upset with a team (which Red Sox fans certainly should have been through this month) and being a constant barrage of spewing obscenities and declarations that they were "done" with the team on a near nightly basis.
   592. SoSHially Unacceptable Posted: September 29, 2011 at 01:01 AM (#3942491)
Yeah, let's have Mark Reynolds go on contact, nothing could possibly go wrong.

OK, I didn't see the play, but I think I'd instruct my third base coach to always end the runner on contact in a one-out, runner on third situation. At worst, you lose two bases (with two outs). At best, you score a run and put another runner on base. I like the trade.
