I root for the Giants and I love this.

Interesting that he would take this gig when he must be in very high demand.

Long term the Giants are a great gig. Great fanbase, great park, great ownership, great franchise.

Short term they are so ######. Not good enough to compete but too many stars to rebuild. There are probably only 4-5 teams in all of baseball that are in a worse position than them right now.

He must have a long term outlook, and Giants fans are lucky for that!

No team with their resources is in the bottom 5 for short-term chances of success, unless you mean literally just next year. If you assume he's coming because he has a good FA budget, then Giants' fans should feel like they could--could--be competitive in two years if they're lucky, three if they're not. That's not true of every team
