Giants Scout Creates iPhone App

With the help of a developer, a Giants part-time scout in Florida, Tim Rock, has created an iPhone application for scouts. The app, iProScout Baseball, is in the final testing stages and should be in the App Store by the end of March.
[...]
The app allows scouts to enter biographical information on a player and, as soon as the scout chooses a position for the player, the app prompts the scout to fill out the player’s evaluation card.

As long as there's a box for "Good face? (Y/N)", it'll sell.

I wonder what grades he'd give to a young Tim "Rock" Raines.

$5.99 for an app that is basically nothing more than a stock form with one simple calculation. I don't even know IOS and figure I could crank this out in about 4 hours.

Wonder how much he paid the development agency...

Doesn't seem all that excessive to me, given that the total market size for this app is on the order of a thousand people something fancy is not going to happen at that price. It's not like it has to save a lot of typing to be worth six dollars for a scout.
