Gordon wants to be Cubs’ full-time closer

Hey, here is a novel idea, Tom. Stay healthy for a few games before you start demanding this and demanding that. Your team is in first place and all you are concerned with is yourself. Gordon hasn’t pitched in over a year yet he fully expects to be ordained the closer automatically despite what the Cubs bullpen has done. I am not saying that Jeff Fassero is the second coming of Sparky Lyle but the guy has done the job and Gordon should expect NOTHING. Sit down and wait your turn.

Like I said, Fassero is not the second coming of Sparky Lyle, but the numbers you allude to are skewed by 3 awful appearances out of 18. He actually has been very good in the other 15 times out.
