The winner will be sacrificed on Opening Day, right?

Lead all the applicants into the Man Cave, then wall up the entrance.

Thank you, Cleveland Indians, for finally topping that terrible President of Red Sox Nation embarrassment (oh god that appears to still be a thing).

To all good and decent Ohioans...you have my sympathies for all the wise ass comments that are coming.

*hangs head in shame, thinks back to the good old days of Andy Allanson and Rich Yett playing in front of 2,600 people before Brohio was a thing*

This is terribly embarrassing and there is no defending it in the end, but this is what happens when you have a marketing department with an impossible job that is made up of people who feel that they need to earn their salaries somehow.

It's analogous to the manager who calls for bunts and hit-and-runs for fear of feeling useless. It hurts the team, but what else is he supposed to do? Just sit there??

Isn't Nick Swisher already Governor4Lyfe of Brohio?

The Nationals just recently managed to rid themselves of a Dude-Bro "in-game host", so I fully expect them to come up with something this bad or worse for 2014. But yeah, this is impressively awful.

Governor of Brohio

Not nearly as cool a title as Mayor of Batman.

Far as I can tell, this was the lowest-attended game in Cleveland that featured both Messrs. Allanson and Yett. But the attendance was a whopping 4,940, not 2,600. (Of course, that was the official number. By the time the Twins scored six runs in the first three innings, there might not have been 260 people left in the park, never mind 2,600...)

Everybody was in Atlanta that day, watching Gordon Beckham being born. Not at the Braves game though.

This sounds like fun. I might have to dust off my good fedora for the interview, brosephs.

I remember going to an Indians game in 1988-1990. My dad was a life-long fan having grown up on the other side of Lake Erie and listened to the 1954 World Series on the radio. I assume he had seen a game at some point, but I doubt he'd been to one in a long time. He was adamant we stop in to see a game on our family drive from Toronto to Vancouver. We got some cheap seats and after an inning or two an usher came up to us and asked if we would please come sit in the infield, a couple seats back of the dugout. I was 5 or 6 so I don't remember the game at all...but I remember it being fun! In Toronto we'd always sit in the upper deck.

Also, just reading the headline I just assumed this was a story about Nick Swisher.

Yes, and the first person to triple-post wins.

Certainly had enough of the dude crap myself.

Probably partially due to the increased profile of homosexuals. Nothing wrong with that of course. But back in the 1950s, a lot of people thought Liberace was just a nice young man. And of course there have always been many heterosexual men with some prissy or effeminate characteristics.

But now more people are aware of all that. So if you're too prissy you seem gay. If you're too macho, well then you seem gay too. The only sure way to establish your masculinity bona fides is to scratch your balls at least once every five seconds. Hence the ride of the bro and Peter Griffin.
