Graphic designer creates Star Wars/MLB mash-up logos for all 30 teams

Graphic designer Mark Avery-Kenny clearly had some fun when he created Major League Baseball logos with a Star Wars theme. Here is a sampling of some, including the Royals. All 30 logos can be found on his Instagram account

(1) Gee, Yankees as Evil Empire. That's original.

(2) The Ewoks won.

Ahhh, but the Dodgers got the Emperor.

I like the Reds one. Indians and Marlins both made me lol.

The Cubs as ewoks... because, you know, we don't suffer enough as it is.

Isn't making them Ewoks about as obvious as you can get? They are basically small bears. I don't see anything wrong with that one. The Cardinals got Watto, basically a jewish slave caricature, in the best example of George Lucas cultural sensitivity (okay, technically Watto was probably the third worse politically incorrect character in the new trilogy behind the lazy Jamaican and greedy Asians)

At least the Cardinals could have been Jabba (the lesser evil)

Oh, great...combine my favourite ballclub with my least favourite Star Wars character! (Yes, even worse than Jar-Jar, who I actually almost sorta liked. Kinda.)

A few decisions I would have made...Instead of making the Rangers Han Solo, I think Boba Fett would have been a better choice(closest thing to "Rangers" that star wars has are bounty hunters---or maybe Jedi if you are a prequel fan.)
Not sure what the significance of Tarkin as Astros, why not go with the Leach monster from the asteroid belt? Or do the Millenium Falcon as an example of a spaceship. Giants and Royals was nearly as obvious as the Yankees. (I love the New Jersey Devils as a Simpson character)

edit: although I have to question how someone could do all this work and misspell Dagobah.

When the Millenium Falcon reaches Cloud City, Lando greets Han with, "How are you doing, you old pirate?" So Han should be in Pittsburgh. Though I admit that C-3PO makes for a pretty comic swarthy sea dog.

That works for me. C-3P0 (or Lobot) should be in Oakland representing the computer GM. (or the Nomads..I.E. Tusken Raiders representing the travelling nature of that particular franchise)

why link to a shitty article about the logos instead of the album where all of them are actually located?

The Marlins' logo is a trap.

I couldn't figure out which is closer to squid, a Marlin or a Ray. At least they chose one of those two for Ackbar.

Yeah, I think they are done based on making a good logo rather than finding a character/team match.

That said, I am down with where my teams ended up (The Washington Rancors and the Oakland Yodas)

I can't see them. Is Montrealderaan's logo a giant round Youppi face being shot by the Death Star's laser beam?

A real missed opportunity to have Billy Dee Williams pimping the Houston team.
