As a Jays fan it was fun to see a spring game actually feel like it mattered. Boy I hope Vlad can live up to the potential as it is scary high level.

It was funny, when Vlad came up one of the announcers (Buck Martinez) said 'wouldnt it be great if...' but stopped himself. It was too crazy. Then Vlad did it and 25k fans went nuts. Fun seeing all the minor leaguers run up to him at the plate to celebrate while the vets all sat on the bench - appropriate as it was the kids moment.

He didn't stop himself. It is right there on the replay... Buck 'calls the shot'.

Anything that reminds people of what a great franchise the Expos were I'm all for. Would love to see the Rays or Marlins end up there.

Look forward to watching VG2 and Bo Bichette sooner than later.

Vlad Jr. has his fathers swing. It's uncanny.

Does he also hit home runs on pitches that bounce?

The scary thing is that all the scouts say he has amazing plate discipline, so something like that would never happen.

@10: I wonder if this is something that a guy like Vlad could teach but not do. That is, Vlad was great but he probably knew he lacked plate discipline and thought he could be better. That seems like something a father could teach: "Son, I was a HOFer but I would have been the best if I could just do this one thing. So work on that."
