Darin Mastroianni is my favorite player in baseball. He's currently their 4th outfielder. Trading Span lets him play every day for the rest of the year.
Please trade Denard Span.
Sincerely,
Anonymous Twins Fan Who Is Not Related To Darin Mastroianni
I can only hope he goes before tonight's game. The catch Span made last night on Rios was absurd. He seems to kill the Sox.
I suspect he may be lying about the relation to Darin Mastroianni.
What a crap trade for Arizona.
Someone for Gibby to play in front of Upton?
Now a done deal. Interesting to see how these picks are valued.
If money is the hang-up, I assume there's not much coming back... The Cubs OF ought to be.... interesting... tonight.
I think its a sign that Scott Podsednik is still playing baseball at the Major League level, which I was unaware of.

So Beane had no problem paying Sheets $10mil a year but they are drawing the line at Rollins?
If you believe the rumor mill, he balked at using Daniel Straily in a Chase Headley deal.
I have no desire to see them give up anything more than pocket lint to acquire him ...
Kottaras was just the right sized bone.
Ryan Dempster tweeting "No no no no I totally told them to trade me to LA!!!"
He's just got one more year of arb left, not any sort of long-term deal, right? I wouldn't be interested in eating much if the return is DY without some moderately lukewarm bauble in accompaniment.
He's either on his last arb year or signed to a 1-year deal. No arb left after this.
Chapman to the rotation?
That would be awesome. But I assume you're joking.
Makes sense, since Detroit's a much nicer city than San Francisco.
That was Victorino. Maybe the Phillies will send Pierre for Ondrusek now.
edit: half coke to Dock Ellis.
Gotta fix FIPs somehow.
BTW - Cubs-Tigers supposedly got the point of toss-ins; Cubs balked at including Campana, suggested Valbuena instead.
That'd be interesting. Adrian Cardenas, Starting Third Baseman? (Or would they bring up Vitters...)
So Gorkys Hernandez has been traded 3 times before making MLB (other than a cup of coffee with the Pirates this year). Tigers to Braves; Braves to Pirates; Pirates to Marlins.
Conflicting reports from different writers... Dempster is either a Yankee or a Ranger.
Probably - but I'd say it depends on whether the Tigers were giving anything back. If there was even a lottery ticket or two coming back to the Cubs, I'd agree -- but if it was just say, Young or some other nothing -- then the Cubs don't need to dump Soriano just to save a few bucks. Not saying I wouldn't save a few bucks if I could, but I don't think I'd toss in Campana either. He's a wonderful 5th OF in my mind. I love 5th OFers that are really fast.
I am rather surprised at the lack of DeJesus action this year. He has been having a good enough season to upgrade some contenders but I didn't notice a single rumor anywhere.
Don't knock it, it would have helped Ed Delahanty.
Too soon.
EDIT: One pitcher, one position player... Has Profar jumped to AA yet ;-)
Don't give me a heart attack
That would be something!

I don't think you can tread water while in a waterfall.
And then the Yankees will shoot McGeHee and the Pirates will shoot Qualls? Makes sense.
I don't think that makes any sense, but that's what the dude is saying.
criss-cross? Though - doesn't making the trade sorta blows the whole alibi angle.
I sense an Office Space type trade, where each gets a new locker down in the bowels of the clubhouse.
I have faith - the Rangers system is pretty damn stacked. There's a lot I'd like from it.
I assume they are endearing in the clubhouse or some such so they don't want to shoot them themselves. It's the only explanation for why they've been around this long.
I suppose that beats a supp pick. Would have rather had Delgado, but Dempster screwed us out of that. Now, hopefully he stinks up Arlington and only Atlanta offers him a contract this winter.
If the Yankees are really going to run McGehee out there, they might as well given Nunez another shot. Although I freely concede that the first time Nunez airmails a throw I will be foaming at the mouth and ready to send him back to Scranton if not the moon.
Evan Grant (of the Dallas Morning News) tweeted that it's Villanueva and Kyle Hendricks.
