Here’s The Bizarre Promo For The Baseball Playoffs That Uses The Latest Korean Music Fad

” cols=“100” rows=“20”>

Fox has unleashed a promo for the 2012 baseball postseason using the popular Korean rap song “Gangnam Style.” And it is as bizarre as you might imagine.

For those not familiar, “Gangnam Style” is a song by the South Korean comedic rapper PSY (I am not sure of a better way to describe him). The original video is catchy, yet odd, and has over 70 million views on YouTube.

Comedic rapper is a bit dismissive, no? As my Korean friends tell me, while any Korean rapping is typically big LOLs, this guy has some actual talents.

Wow, what a horrid job they did on the video until the dancing started.

Hey photoshop guy, you can actually animate the players eyes, and roll the heads in time to the music to make them funnier and more engaging.

The "woop woop" parts of it remind me of the opening of the greatest song of the 21st century.

Not exactly Cherry Filter, is it?

Great song, been a fan of it for a while, this is awful though.

Wow, is it bizarre to see Jim Thome in an Orioles cap.

1. Why would anyone other than a Cardinal fan want to see multiple cut aways to the Cardinals celebrating? It's the playoffs, not limited to the World series, there were plenty of other celebrations to show if you wanted to focus on the celebrations.
2. Derek Jeter is a sexy lady. :)
3. I thought it was pretty good once they got away from the celebrations. Weird and freaky no doubt, and they should have had a bunch of cut aways to actual game footage, but good and creepy nonetheless. The only actual baseball play shown in the bit was the final out of the world series. There were some memorable homeruns from last year, a couple of great pitching performances etc... Heck last year was probably one of the best post season series of all time(overall post season series) and you really need to market that (yes I know this is just one promo)

This is freaking hilarious. That's possibly the oddest thing I've ever seen.

Is this real? It is all sorts of awesome.

He is pretty talented but one can be a talented comedic rapper. My understanding is that the lyrics are subtly subversive and not just silly Korean pop lyrics. Either way it is extremely catchy.

Throw us A's fans a bone. Jeez, five seconds of Josh Reddick is all we get?

That is weird and awesome. I am making it my new "Call Me Maybe" - I have never heard/seen the original, only parodies.

I think I like that more than the actual video. And I LIKE the original.
Not sure why he's called a rapper, though - that's a stretch.

here's the video it's based on

Great video.... fell for the lead girl (Kim Hyun-a)

Ok, but you're depriving yourself. The video is pure fun. Psy's dance moves somehow remind me of Joliet Jake Blues.

Well, my ears tell me this is the worst thing I have ever heard.

Yeah, he is more LMFAO than "rapper," though LMFAO's horrible #### certainly has plenty elements of rap in it.

Also, "open condom style" is easily my favorite style.

Well he had at least enough talent to get into Berklee.

i don't know why people take LMFAO seriously enough to have any animosity towards them. In a world full of 'serious artists', their tongue in cheek electro-rap is very refreshing. Hardly their fault their #### is overplayed to hell.

If Bartolo Colon was in the video would his head have to reduced in size?
