Heyman:  Maxing out: Scherzer is Tigers’ greatest contractual challenge yet

Long before he was named in the article, I knew who Scherzer’s agent is.  As long as he continues to write articles like this, or this one about Stephen Drew, people will continue to think Heyman’s a shill for Scott Boras.

That Drew article is some serious Boras ball-washing. Even Heyman should be embarassed by that one.

Contractual challenge? Wait until they get to the Cabrera extension.

As to Scherzer -- man, he's been a much better and more durable pitcher than I realized. Less than Felix, more than Anibal. Wait, Greinke got $26.5 AAV? WTF is wrong with the Dodgers? So I think it's gonna be around Felix in AAV -- ugh.

Really have to question whether or not Heyman is getting some type of "bonus" from Boras. It can't just because of Heyman's man crush on Boras that he writes this stuff.

Oh my god that drew article is amazingly ridiculous.

What the heck is with Sanchez's K rate? Since becoming a full time starter, is K/9 have been 7.2, 9.3, 7.7, 10.0. I thought strikeouts were one of the more stable stats. Or is that stable and I just don't realize it?

Isn't the bonus that Heyman always gets the first call when Boras has actual news about any of his clients?

Doesn't seem like an equitable quid pro quo . Again Boras negotiated a great deal for his client(himself in this case)

My predominant issue with the article would be that it's simply way, way too long (perhaps that's largely what other people are responding to) - you don't need 1500 words to illuminate a fairly simple insight (Scherzer is good, and has contract negotiations coming up).

7 - seems like a great deal for Heyman to me actually. His getting the first scoop time and time again will keep him employed until the day Boras decides he'd rather own his own island that dupe desperate GMs. Meanwhile I doubt that propaganda from Heyman actually gets one more dollar for a Boras client. Fans will eat it up, but nobody working in a front office is getting their information from CBS Sports.
