The Astros won’t have too much influence on that race, because they don’t play the Dodgers, and only have three games vs. Arizona left. As for the quest for .500? A cursory glance makes it seem possible. While they are two games under .500 against the Central so far, they play 13 of the remaining 25 games against Pittsburgh and Cincinnati. They have winning records against both the East and the West, who account for the remaining 19 games. I don’t think there have ever been four teams with winning records in the Central division since its inception in 1994.
but actually it looks like the entire NL except for cubs decided that parity means every team should be lousy with 1 or 2 good players and everyone else filler.
