Indians Designate Jose Lopez For Assignment

John Danks is out for the year, so we’re even.

The Indians announced that they designated infielder Jose Lopez for assignment… Lopez appeared in 66 games for the Indians this year, playing third base and seeing some time at first and second. The 28-year-old posted a .249/.272/.366 batting line in 224 plate appearances.

and yet his former teammate at a corner OF (and thius better hitting) position, who sits with a .261/.288/.355 slash line, rocks on (even getting a DH stint for the best-hitting team in the league). I just do not get it.
