Indians Designate Jose Lopez For Assignment

John Danks is out for the year, so we’re even.

The Indians announced that they designated infielder Jose Lopez for assignment… Lopez appeared in 66 games for the Indians this year, playing third base and seeing some time at first and second. The 28-year-old posted a .249/.272/.366 batting line in 224 plate appearances.

Neat how both parts of the Mariner infield of the future ended up DFAed in the same week.

Such a bright future. What happened to him? How'd he get so crappy?

#2 It's just really tough to make a living swinging at pitcher's pitches.

Maybe they can trade him for John Danks.

I think he put on too much weight in the Mariners innovative new Weight Room that was supposed to revolutionize the game.

It's too bad Lonnie Chisenhall broke his right forearm; otherwise, the Danks jokes could've been dusted off a few months earlier.

Jokes about Dave Cameron are evergreen, because Dave Cameron never stops being wrong about stuff.

and yet his former teammate at a corner OF (and thius better hitting) position, who sits with a .261/.288/.355 slash line, rocks on (even getting a DH stint for the best-hitting team in the league). I just do not get it.

Dayton Moore can't pick up the phone fast enough.
