The KBO (Korean Baseball Organization) had it’s playoffs start yesterday. Study up. This year’s series is between the Doosan Bears and Lotte Giants. Among the splendid names North Americans may recognize are Karim Garcia (Lotte), CJ Nitkowski (Doosan) and Sun-Woo Kim (Doosan). Oh, and Jerry Royster manages Lotte.
Lotte won game 1, helped greatly by the fact that CJ Nitkowski left after three innings with a strained shoulder. The Doosan relief corp blew it starting in the 5th. The final score: Lotte 7. Doosan 2.
Following up on the IBAF World Cup, here are some final notes. Included are reports on how some team’s prospects did.
Finally, Former Big Leaguer Rikkert Faneyte has parted ways with the Amsterdam Pirates.
