HOW LATE WILL OMNICHATTER POST TODAY?!
   2. phredbird Posted: September 19, 2018 at 03:02 PM (#5747556)

SO LATE THAT I TRIED TO POST ONE EARLIER TODAY.

... but i'll probably not be around much. the cards are getting beat, and i got stuff i gotta do.

   3. Bote Man Posted: September 19, 2018 at 03:30 PM (#5747578)
David, when you are posting your OMNICHATTER do you also see what else is in the queue?

For example, over the weekend things got seriously backed up and then the site vomited forth about a dozen articles on Monday. I would be cool with someone like you approving submissions that have been languishing there. Thanks.
   4. stanmvp48 Posted: September 19, 2018 at 05:00 PM (#5747646)
Just realized Tampa's record would be the third best in the National League.
   5. BDC Posted: September 19, 2018 at 05:04 PM (#5747648)
Speaking of Tampa Bay, I'm not at the game today, I had to work. What kind of workplace schedules meetings when there's a day game?

Maybe for the best, because the Rangers are getting their heads beat in, 9-3. They have at least scored, which they hadn't managed in the first two Rays games this week. Adrian Beltre hit his 475th home run today, tying him with Stan Musial and Willie Stargell for 30th all time.
   6. Moses Taylor, aka Hambone Fakenameington Posted: September 19, 2018 at 05:08 PM (#5747655)
I'm not David, but I can post a new chatter without it going through the submission process; however, I can't see anything else that's pending.

Glad I could not help you.
   7. Los Angeles El Hombre of Anaheim Posted: September 19, 2018 at 06:17 PM (#5747702)
David, when you are posting your OMNICHATTER do you also see what else is in the queue?
Because I'm not looking? I gotta get better at that. Also, I don't get to see if someone else has submitted a chatter, only when it's actually up.

HOW WILL THE YANKEES WIN THE A.L. EAST ?
   9. AT-AT at bat@AT&T Posted: September 19, 2018 at 07:07 PM (#5747724)
Aroldis Chapman can still not speak English ? WTF !

Neither can you and it hasn't stopped you from posting here.
   11. AT-AT at bat@AT&T Posted: September 19, 2018 at 07:09 PM (#5747726)
How is that even possible ?

Neither can you and it hasn't stopped you from posting here.

Better then you ! Jork !
   13. Bote Man Posted: September 19, 2018 at 07:10 PM (#5747728)
OK, so yous guys must have write-only access :-) Oh well.
   14. AT-AT at bat@AT&T Posted: September 19, 2018 at 07:11 PM (#5747730)
Great start, SevenCurry... 4 balls to Betts. Ok, could be worse.

Throw strikes, Seven ! And learn English !
   15. AT-AT at bat@AT&T Posted: September 19, 2018 at 07:16 PM (#5747733)
FU JD Martinez ! And learn English too !
   16. AT-AT at bat@AT&T Posted: September 19, 2018 at 07:22 PM (#5747736)
Good job, Severino... now let's start the explosive BRONX BOMBER BATS ! BBB
   17. AT-AT at bat@AT&T Posted: September 19, 2018 at 07:29 PM (#5747739)
Aaron Hicks : ####.

Yeah, that sums it up.
   18. AT-AT at bat@AT&T Posted: September 19, 2018 at 07:32 PM (#5747742)
Judge and Stanton right on two of Price's pitches... just foul balls. Could be 3-0 Yanks.

And a few really bad strikes called. The Red Sucks Bonus.
   19. AT-AT at bat@AT&T Posted: September 19, 2018 at 07:36 PM (#5747744)
Didi : Wow.

Catches smoked Nunez bullet.
   20. AT-AT at bat@AT&T Posted: September 19, 2018 at 07:42 PM (#5747748)
AAAAAAAnnnduuuuujaaaaaRRRRRR !
   21. AT-AT at bat@AT&T Posted: September 19, 2018 at 07:44 PM (#5747750)
Ok, so if the Yanks can keep Andujar and Torres, along with the rest, except for Stanton, Chapman, Gray and Sanchez, they should be all set for the World Series wins in 2019, 2020 and 2021.
   22. Davo and his Moose Tacos Posted: September 19, 2018 at 07:49 PM (#5747754)
Hey guys.

The Rays are just 5 games out now. They’ve won 23 of their last 28.

Also, Ryan Yarborough is 15-5 with a 3.88 ERA. Rookie of the Year amirite? (NOTE: don’t look at any other stats.)

   23. The Yankee Clapper Posted: September 19, 2018 at 07:54 PM (#5747759)
Judge "doubles" through Nunez's legs, although tradition probably requires an error call. 3-0!
   24. the Hugh Jorgan returns Posted: September 19, 2018 at 07:55 PM (#5747760)
Wheels...falling off. Now Red Sox looking decidedly average.
   25. Srul Itza Posted: September 19, 2018 at 08:04 PM (#5747768)
Adrian Beltre hit his 475th home run today, tying him with Stan Musial and Willie Stargell for 30th all time

Also, from the game story: "Beltre's 1,698 RBIs are one shy of Jim Thome for 23rd. Beltre also had a double and is 15th with his 3,159 career hits, 25 behind Cal Ripken"

So, you think he's got a shot at the Hall?
   26. AT-AT at bat@AT&T Posted: September 19, 2018 at 08:06 PM (#5747769)
But can Beltre speak English ?
   27. Davo and his Moose Tacos Posted: September 19, 2018 at 08:09 PM (#5747775)
At 85-66, the Rays would be leading the AL Central, the NL East and the NL West.

By WAR, their second best player is Joey Wendle.
   28. AT-AT at bat@AT&T Posted: September 19, 2018 at 08:23 PM (#5747779)
Too bad Pedroia is injured. The Red Sucks could be so much better than this.
This isn't even a team anymore. Good luck in the Wildcard Game.
   29. AT-AT at bat@AT&T Posted: September 19, 2018 at 08:26 PM (#5747780)
Ok, we need an Arsetros loss and an A's win.
The Rays are kinda scary. If they make the Wildcard at the end, they sure deserve it. But they won't.
   30. Bote Man Posted: September 19, 2018 at 08:26 PM (#5747781)
So, you think he's got a shot at the Hall?

Nope! Because he won't let anybody touch his head to measure it for his plaque.
   31. AT-AT at bat@AT&T Posted: September 19, 2018 at 08:27 PM (#5747782)
Well Voit me timbers !
   32. AT-AT at bat@AT&T Posted: September 19, 2018 at 08:28 PM (#5747783)
That's what I like about rookies like Torres, they pup it op and smash their bat to the ground.

So inherently cute.
   33. AT-AT at bat@AT&T Posted: September 19, 2018 at 08:34 PM (#5747787)
Nunez's helmet stayed on. Paul O'Neill flummoxed.
   34. AT-AT at bat@AT&T Posted: September 19, 2018 at 08:39 PM (#5747790)
Striking out Betts... Severino, really, you are so cool !

Is good Sevy back?
   36. Srul Itza Posted: September 19, 2018 at 08:56 PM (#5747801)
Probably not.
   37. AT-AT at bat@AT&T Posted: September 19, 2018 at 08:57 PM (#5747802)
Sevy should learn English, then he would be a better pitcher.
   38. AT-AT at bat@AT&T Posted: September 19, 2018 at 08:59 PM (#5747803)
99 in on the hands... lucky he didn't kill him.
   39. AT-AT at bat@AT&T Posted: September 19, 2018 at 09:01 PM (#5747806)
The 2018 Red Sucks. The team that popped itself up and out of the Division Win !
Then lost to the Rays in the Wildcard Game, 17:1. Homerun by Xander BogeyGuards.
   40. AT-AT at bat@AT&T Posted: September 19, 2018 at 09:04 PM (#5747807)
So, can Andujar speak English ?

I wish Stanton and Judge could hit like that Voit !
   45. AndrewJ Posted: September 19, 2018 at 09:10 PM (#5747814)
Phillies shut out the Mets, 4-0. They've won two straight series!
   46. rconn23 Posted: September 19, 2018 at 09:10 PM (#5747815)
There's the David Price I know and love.
   47. AT-AT at bat@AT&T Posted: September 19, 2018 at 09:12 PM (#5747818)
Price just won on The Voit. Really nice singing, dude !
   48. ERROR---Jolly Old St. Nick Posted: September 19, 2018 at 09:16 PM (#5747820)
There's the David Price I know and love.

If Happ and Sevvy can pitch like this in the DS, and if Tanaka can keep it up, that series might be salvageable after all. The pitching matchups aren't so great for the Red Sox once they get past Sale.

(Yeah, I know, that's a lot of ifs.)

I think the Yanks may be getting the Beantowners' attention. The season begins anew in October, and the regular season doesn't mean #### except for that one extra home game.

5-0 Mariners @Arsetros, 5th. Not over yet, but nice.

If only they weren't relegated to a one-game playoff. If they get past the A's, I still say they are just as good as anyone.

Look, I support the roboumps as much as you do, but you shouldn't resort to obviously made-up stories about Javy taking two consecutive pitches to try to make the point.

I have serious doubts that catcher defense is *that* important that Jeff Mathis should still be playing in the major leagues.
   76. Meatwad Posted: September 19, 2018 at 10:49 PM (#5747895)
Only 53 pitches for hamels. He could go deep and eat innings even if the offense doesnt score.

I've always enjoyed the sense that the worst-hitting catchers get anointed with this "defensive whiz" oil because - geesh, we know he sucks at hitting, so he must be good defensively!

and maybe he is. but 14 years and 2680 PA in the bigs with a 52 OPS+ is.... amazing. his career high in OPS+ is 70 in 2012, yet he has gotten 100+ PA in 12 straight seasons with four franchises.

Yeah, Joe, clearly you need to make a pitching change when you're down 7-0 with 2 outs in the 7th and your current reliever has thrown 10 whole pitches.

Mathis looks like Johnny Bench compared to Kazunari Sanematsu, who has caught for 18 years in Japan with a career batting average of .166.

That's amazing. Any idea how he's stuck around that long? No human being can be that good defensively to justify that level of crappiness for so long. Is it a uniquely Japanese thing?

it's spelled "THOR"

and I'm fond of C Corky Miller, who went 1 for 55 over parts of 3 MLB seasons in mid-career for three different teams.

2 years later, he put up a 5 for 60 spot for a 4th team at age 32.

he finally figured out how to hit at age 37 in 2013, with a 112 OPS+ in 41 PA for his original team, the Reds.

he never got another MLB AB - he had reached nirvana, or something.
