SIGN MAUER DAMNIT
Jacque Jones will make everyone happy in spring training and be back home on the couch by July.
It is? Inviting a popular former Twin to spring training and giving him a shot to crack the 25-man roster for almost no salary is a horrid-ass move? At absolute worst, it's boring. Given that Gardenhire won't commit to giving Jim Thome ABs over Delmon Young, I don't think there's any reason to worry about him giving them to Jacque instead.
This move only made me more excited about the Twins. I love Jacque Jones. I love him so much I want to take him behind the middle school and get him pregnant.
Mike Easler's middle school of hitting
Sounds like the Braves and Brian Jordan. "Boring" is certainly not the worst outcome.
Obviously the odds of him ever setting foot on Target Field are long, but I'd rather the Twins invite him to spring training than someone like Jack Offerman, Ruben Sierra or Rondell White.
My mother, who had a massive crush on him and goes to Spring Training every year, will be thrilled to hear this.
