John D’Acquisto: Mahogany

12 hours to beat the reporting deadline. 750 miles, four pitchers, two Porsches, and the last song a young right-hander rehabbing an arm injury in 1976 needs to hear.

Meh, one of his less interesting stories, although there's an interesting part in there about how he didn't know where the Giants would play in '77 (Toronto?) Still, someone needs to collect these, edit them, and put them in a book. I'd probably buy it.

I have driven +90mph in parts of California, but not on Highway 5.

I always enjoy Johnny D's articles. It's interesting how much the two Bay Area teams have been rumored to or almost moved since Oakland arrived in 1968. Thank you for posting this.
