You can crush us
You can bruise us
But you’ll have to answer to
Oh, runs of Broxton
After Oakland’s Seth Smith reached on an Alcides Escobar error in the 12th, Broxton walked two batters and hit two more to take a blown save and a loss in a 5-4 game.
Broxton retired the first batter he faced prior to Escobar’s miscue. After the two walks, the tying run scored on a groundout and Broxton was in position to still send the game to the 13th. Only then he plunked Yoenis Cespedes and Jonny Gomes with back-to-back pitches, ending the contest.
Broxton, who was signed to set up for Joakim Soria, has looked pretty shaky since the beginning of the spring and doesn’t seem long for the closer’s role in Kansas City. Greg Holland is probably next in line, and Aaron Crow, who started games this spring before being shifted back to the pen, could also be an option.

DOMINATING.
Was he drinking brew for breakfast?
Johny can fail.
EDITED to add in a few more lines.
Now that lead is imperiled -Jonathan's comin' in
Broxton closing to the underworld
Leave 'im on the bench, fantasy playing boys and girls
Broxton closing, now pennant hopes will bite the dust
All that phoney Royals hope has surely left us
Broxton closing, batters don't need no swing
Just some sore ribs or that armored elbow thing
"Play ball" is declared and batter steps in
Broxton stepping to the top of the mound
Come out of the dugout, he'll spin you around
Broxton falling, don't look to us
Yoenis Cespedes has bitten the dust!
Broxton falling, see you don't need to swing
Just stand there and you'll be walking
The blown save is coming, runs zooming in
Meltdown expected, wins are growing thin
Batters stop bunting but I have no fear
'Cause Broxton is drowning and I live by the river
Green. Green icing. C'mon that's an iconic song.
I don't know which one is more hilarious, the Richard Harris version, or the disco one.
Edit: someone should really write some decent lyrics for it, b/c that's a great tune.
Melting down should be called a "Broxton". 30 saves, 3 Broxtons, 3 other blown saves.
I was looking at the box score on Yahoo as it went down last night, and his mugshot is so sad. I hope he's in an okay frame of mind. Looks like he wants to be put out of his misery in that photo.
I think in this case some artistic license is permitted.
From Steve Carlton to Steve Trout in one inning!
they used to play 'iron man' when he'd come in from the bullpen at dodger stadium. he was a big scary lookin dude in those days. good times.
