Josh Beckett Focuses on Pitching to Strengths Rather Than Crunching Numbers (Video)

Some pitchers like to focus on statistics and tendencies when it comes to trying to get opposing hitters out. Josh Beckett is not one of those pitchers.

While Beckett does do his studying and preparation in advance of starts, the right-hander said that he’s not a “number-crunching guy.” Beckett said he concentrates more on what he can do.

...he likes to study all opposing batsman DURING each at AB, hence the reason why my pacing is glacial when I am on the mound....
