1. Russlan will never be fond of Jason Bay Posted: August 08, 2007 at 11:11 AM (#2476681)Gorz + Nady for Gonzalez, Tracy, and Young would have been relatively fair given the uncertainty of the DBacks starting pitching.
Pass.
If the Dbacks had any marketing acumen, Justin Upton would be the face of the franchise this morning, not the overpaid left fielder. Not surprisingly, the big press conference yesterday didn't bring any extra fans to the game... and the majority of those who came left before Upton's last at bat, when he was going for the cycle.
Eric Byrnes is not your saviour, Moorad and Kendrick. No one can save you from your stupidity.
During the television broadcast, Sutton and Grace said he indeed would have been the youngest. Apparently Mel Ott is the youngest, although I have not taken the time to verify that myself. Ott was 20 when he did so.
Another factoid shared by the broadcasting team was that Fred Lewis was the earliest to hit for the cycle when he did so for the Giants earlier this year in only his 16th (I think?) career game. Obviously, J-Up would have surpassed that one last night, as well.
"Bo Jackson athleticism with baseball skills"
JK: I am a little concerned by all his early snafus and wonder that if even his bat is ready, whether he needs more work on baserunning and hitting the cut off man.
I'll be REALLY excited when I see his first multi walk game. ;)
He may even be better than Luis Terrero when it's all said and done.
Like Robert, I have been impressed that he has not been chasing stuff, CQ-style. But is it me, or has he NOT been getting much out of the zone? (His HR is the exception - that was reminiscent of Vlad.)
Better than Terrero? LOL. We'll only know for certain after we see how he handles the ol' hidden ball.
