Justin Verlander gem, Carlos Correa walkoff propel Astros to Game 2 win - Houston Chronicle

Verlander was utterly dominant. The former MVP and Cy Young Award winner became the first starter this postseason to pitch into even the eighth inning and the first Astros to complete nine in the playoffs since Nolan Ryan in the 1986 NLCS.

Verlander allowed only five hits and one walk. He ran his fastball up to 97 mph and his slider up to 89. He filled up the strike zone, throwing 93 of his 124 pitches for strikes.

The two highest-scoring teams in the AL have combined for 6 runs in 2 games.

Don't worry, there could be six runs in the first two innings tomorrow. The game three pitchers are good, but not as good as the four who started the first two games.

After some pretty ugly wild card and division series games the LCSes have been really fantastic. Good, clean pitchers' duels and generally well played even with bits of controversy and second guessing.
