KC’s Jeff Francoeur makes great throw—$100 into stands

Last night at Kauffman Stadium he tossed a $100 bill into the stands with a note that read, “Buy some beer on me.”

The section he tossed it to is in the right field stands, behind where he plays. That part of the Royals’ stadium has become known as the “Frenchy Quarter,” in honor of Francoeur’s nickname.

Le wow!

Enough, already. I give up. I've got to like the guy, no matter how annoying his career has been.

Although he's back to earth with a 245/290/330 line.

This is cool, but not as cool as when the fans threw coins at Reggie in NY, and he picked them up.

Frenchy is clearly out of touch with the real world. Doesn't he realize that $100 will only buy about 12 beers? I don't know how many people sit in the Frenchy Quarter on a given night, but if you're going to buy for some, buy for everybody.

Or slung bolts at him, causing him to wear a batting helmet in the field.

The cool part wasn't the fans throwing the money, it was Reggie picking it up.

I know, geez. I'm starting to feel bad for making fun of him for being a terrible hitter. WHY MUST THEY TAKE THAT AWAY FROM ME???

I suffered through Francoeur on the Braves, so I don't feel any guilt about not liking the guy.

To steal a quote from a friend "at least he's getting something into the stands."

Frenchy has the fourth most PAs in the league for someone that is homerless, behind Pujols of course, Denard Span, and Jamey Carroll (who has the longest active homerless streak).

...and Jamey Carroll (who has the longest active homerless streak).

Sheesh, I didn't realize anybody had a longer homerless stretch than Chris Getz.
