1. DarrenHernandez: I'm Keith Hernandez.
(They continue kissing)
I'm on Keith's side with this. What is Jose's arguement exactly... throwing his glove is not acting like a baby?
First time Straw ever hit the cutoff man.
This is kind of a shame, they both seem like good guys, even if Hernandez chooses to act like kind of an ass here.
Reyes shouldn't start fights he can't win. He should jump Delgado instead.
BenesReyes tonightUmmmmmmm...... For what, exactly?
He may also be a marginally talented middle infielder,
Your objectivity is overwhelming.
I think that's actually Suzyn HUSSEIN Waldman. But whatever....
If Reyes just posted his career line in September, the Mets make the playoffs. I'm a believer and a fan (hell, he's the only player that gets my GF to go see the Mets with me), but that doesn't change the fact that a good September from Reyes (and an 80% SB rate) gets the Mets into October.
not sure if you've heard either one or not....but the yankees policy of allowing them to speak is surely a crime against humanity....i have been a yankee fan long enough that at one point my favorite player was mike blowers, and listening to those two on the radio might be the most painful thing I've ever had to endure.
Delgado: I'm gonna beat you with this crowbar until you go away.
Reyes: You can't do that!
Delgado: Oh, there are rules? There are no rules here!
Reyes: You're a pacifist!
Delgado: ####.
Top two, easily.
-Jose Reyes
Oof. I think they do exorcisms for that.
Reyes is being too sensitive but he is probably getting more criticism than he deserves. That comes with the territory though as he'll get more than his fair share of praise if the Mets win.
Yeah, but if Hernandez should be brought down BY a player for speaking against a player, I'm not sure how that equates with Waldman and Sterling, who would defend Jeter if he urinated on the field during the 5th inning.
And I agree they are terrible to listen to, but I don't see how it relates to this situation, that's why I was confused by what you wrote.
edit: I remember a game at Shea where Wally Backman had botched a couple of early, baby plays. Late in the game he caught an easy pop-up hit right to him, there was a scattering of sarcastic applause, Backman took a deep, exaggerated bow, and the stadium erupted. Isn't there someone on the Mets who tell Jose how to have fun with the crowd?
The Milledge trade finally comes back to haunt the Mets!
Try listening to the Mariners TV broadcasts when they play the Yankees. That's what Blowers is doing now.
Winner.
Heh, I deleted a line and didn't notice - I meant to say he's "one of the best shortstops in baseball and the best shortstop in New York."
You sure have been a grouch lately. Must be the fact that you are a Nationals fan.
Yeah, really. Have fun with the crowd?!? Is there any notion more horrifying to the baseball purist? Wally Backman was worse than Hitler, a fact obscured at the time by his superficial scrappiness.
You missed the announcer during this latest Yankees-Mets series (can't remember if it was TBS or FOX) that said there was some debate on this a couple years ago, but no longer because of how poorly Reyes has played. It was truly amazing.
Sounds like McCarver.
