1. McCoy Posted: January 31, 2010 at 04:53 PM (#3451089)What was Michael's alias in 90's for video games. Also anyone remember Kevin Butler's alias?
Life isn't fair.
It costs 60 bones to pick up a new video game these days. How much more money could the household names in MLB make if they negotiated licensing on their own?
This is one situation where I think the MLBPA should let it go already.
Yeah, if my memory is correct U. Josh could rake in Ken Griffey Presents.
I suspect it also had something to do with another hulking misunderstood behemoth...
In the only one I remember, NBA Jam, they just left him out.

Yep, it was Scottie and HoGrant. IS IT THE SHOES????
It was a surprise to Michael, too.
There hasn't been a good NFL game since EA hoarded the rights either.
I'd say SCEA's MLB: The Show on the PS3 is pretty good, although there is still plenty of room for improvement. They're definitely trying to create a realistic baseball experience, both on the field and in the front office.
I loved the MVP series, but the two MLB Power Pros games on the Wii were great. In some ways (roster management, the lack of the amazing Stadium-Creating franchise mode) they're not as good as the MVP series, but you can still color me impressed by them. It's a shame they're not translating them into English anymore.
Also, the Wii sucks.
The Show 09 was fantastic aside from everybody being a Gold Glover (my friends and I would put guys like Manny and Papi at SS just to test it out - sure enough, they were making every play) and some aggravating moments in Road to the Show mode.
"Hey! Leadoff guy! You're not getting enough RBIs!"
"Hey! Cleanup DH guy! Work on your bunting!"
No game has done this well at all in a long time, and since it's all I'm particularly interested in when it comes to baseball games, I stand by my statement.
As a fan of MVP baseball and the NFL2K series, I've been wallowing in bitterness for awhile now.
I always preferred NFL Gameday to Madden and haven't spent any significant time playing a football game since.
I buy the 2K baseball game every year to play online with a friend. The last 2 years it was so bad we maybe played 3 games. A lot of the settings aren't customizable if you're playing online, and the defaults are so screwed up it's unplayable. I play the Show on my PSP, and now that I have a PS3, I'll be giving it a spin on the console, and really happy not to give 2K any more money. By the time they make a perfect baseball game for a console, we'll have teleportation and a Bucs/Royals World Series. Rosters are consistently terrible, player ratings are a mess, even the best games are fraught with glitches. I'm waiting for a game to bring back the MVP feature of being able to move all around the batter's box and angle the hitter toward or away from the pitcher.
Madden is so consistently terrible and yet I buy and play it every year.
