1. Russ Posted: April 10, 2012 at 05:27 PM (#4103200)Can't tell if you're being facetious, but you put the pitcher in a position where a walk ends the game, so he's likely to throw fatter pitches (which the batter, of course, knows).
Wow. I hadn't thought of the issues with a walk there... thanks. I was really confused about why he wouldn't have walked both, but that makes perfect sense. Looks like I didn't watch enough spring training games to get my brain in shape for the season.
